Winners Focus on Accomplishing Their Goals
Winners focus on the task of finishing first! The rest of the field just watches as the winners win. They are happy with finishing behind the winner. Currently, it is week two of the new year, and I ask you: are you satisfied with where you now are in the race?
You know what second place is? It is the first loser.
Winning isn't everything; it's the only thing.
- Vince Lombardi
Those that do not believe in your dreams, or that question whether you have what it takes to accomplish your goals of greatness will tell you winning is not everything.
Do not listen to them! You must be persistent and constantly working toward your goals. Stay driven and focused, set your goals and crush them one by one.
A Gold Medal Example
Below is a picture of South Africa's Chad Le Clos, and Michael Phelps from The United States of America. Both competing in the men's 200m butterfly final heat during the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As you can see, Le Clos is looking at Phelps not focused on the task. However, the eventual winner, Michael Phelps appears to be focused only on the finish.
This is a perfect illustration of the intense focus and drive that a champion must possess and exhibit when they are competing on the field, in the pool, or in the boardroom.
